revealit Signs MOU with The Glimpse Group

Announced in a press release this morning, revealit have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with The Glimpse Group, Inc. (“Glimpse”), a leading Virtual and Augmented Reality (AR/VR) company, to conduct joint research in cooperation with globally-recognized agencies and brands as part of our go-to-market plans for early 2019. As part of this agreement, the two companies will collaborate on business models, revenue streams, and methods that will improve viewer engagement leveraging industry-leading Glimpse AR/VR experiences on revealit’s video platform.

Why is this announcement important? revealit’s interactive video platform delivers rich viewing experiences including Augmented Reality, with an artificial intelligence engine that identifies each item or product across every frame in a video, applying an in-frame green locator dot that acts as an interaction point any time a viewer wants to further explore a brand. This patent-pending video platform transforms shopping into entertainment, making it social, interactive, and contextual — without disrupting the viewing experience. Partnering with Glimpse will enable revealit to leverage their many different AR/VR solutions and further enhance our customer experiences.

For those unfamiliar with the Mary Meeker Internet Trends Report, it is an annual report on the digital technology landscape published by Mary Meeker, a general partner at well-known venture capital firm KIeiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB), and influences companies and media alike, including ZDNet, AdWeek, Lifehacker, and more. Most importantly, the report tracks consumer behavior growth and decline, identifying the technologies and practices that drive engagement and consumption.

According to revealit Founder & CEO Garry Smith, “The Mary Meeker 2018 Internet Trends Report is clear: When shopping is entertainment, viewers engage, share and purchase more. Glimpse’s technology will deliver compelling AR/VR experiences in-frame and in-context on the revealit platform, transforming shopping into entertainment and giving AR/VR meaningful purpose and context within video.”

Glimpse President & CEO Lyron Bentovim shared some additional thoughts on the great partner fit between revealit and Glimpse: “revealit’s zero-interruption approach makes AR/VR experiences more contextual and organic, with the user in control. Their approach has the potential to revolutionize the way we consume AR/VR interactions inside video content.”

We’re excited by this news, and look forward to sharing more information as the pilot program gets underway in early 2019. And if you’d like to stay on top of all revealit news, be sure to follow us on LinkedIn, Facebook, or Telegram!
